Send a nameplate photo and receive a firm number, usually the same day. There is no obligation.
Funds change hands before a single section leaves your property. There is no consignment and no waiting on a downstream resale.
You are never asked to test, energize, clean or repair the gear. Our team evaluates it from the nameplate photos and our own inspection.
Lowboys, flatbeds, cribbing, section separation and permits are billed to us. That cost is already priced into the offer you receive.
Disconnection coordination, dismantling, rigging out of the electrical room and loading are performed by our crews at our expense.
What we look for in medium voltage switchgear
Medium voltage switchgear is where the money is. These are the 5kV, 15kV, 27kV and 38kV class lineups that take an incoming utility or substation feed and distribute it around a plant or campus. New lead times for this class run long enough that serviceable used equipment carries genuine strategic value, which is why we can pay well above scrap for it.
Vacuum breakers are the strongest sellers. Magnetic air breakers from the older Westinghouse and GE lineages still have a market, particularly as spares for plants that cannot replace a whole lineup. We buy metal-clad and metal-enclosed construction, with or without the relaying, CTs and PTs still installed.
For medium voltage we want the full nameplate: voltage class, continuous and interrupting ratings, bus amperage, breaker type and quantity, and the year built. Relay panels, protective relays and spare breakers all add value and should be mentioned even if they have already been removed from the structure.
| Voltage classes | 4.16kV, 5kV, 13.8kV, 15kV, 27kV, 38kV |

Send photos
The nameplate plus one wide shot down the front of the lineup. If the gear is still installed, a photo showing the room and the door path helps us plan the rigging.

Who handles removal?
We do, at our cost. That includes disconnection coordination, teardown, section separation, rigging, permits and freight.
How fast can you pick up?
Usually within a week or two of agreeing on a price, and faster if you have a hard deadline like a demolition date or a lease expiration.
