Send a nameplate photo and receive a firm number, usually the same day. There is no obligation.
Funds change hands before a single section leaves your property. There is no consignment and no waiting on a downstream resale.
You are never asked to test, energize, clean or repair the gear. Our team evaluates it from the nameplate photos and our own inspection.
Lowboys, flatbeds, cribbing, section separation and permits are billed to us. That cost is already priced into the offer you receive.
Disconnection coordination, dismantling, rigging out of the electrical room and loading are performed by our crews at our expense.
What we look for in low voltage switchgear
Low voltage switchgear is the single most common thing we buy. It is the 600V class equipment that takes a building service and splits it into feeders, and it gets replaced whenever a service is upsized, a tenant space is reconfigured, or a facility changes hands. Because it lives indoors in a conditioned electrical room, a lineup that was energized last month is usually in excellent resale condition.
We buy drawout gear with air circuit breakers, fixed-mounted gear with molded case breakers, and everything in between. Main-tie-main configurations, main-lug-only sections, distribution sections and tie sections are all in scope. Breakers left in the cubicles are preferred, because a complete lineup is worth more than an empty shell, but we buy empty structures too.
Three things move the price: the amperage of the bus, the manufacturer, and whether the breakers are still installed. A 3000A or 4000A copper-bus lineup from a mainstream manufacturer with its breakers intact is a stocking item for us and gets a strong number. An aluminum-bus 800A section with the breakers already stripped out is worth less because the resale pool is smaller.
| Amp range we buy | 400A through 6000A |
|---|---|
| Voltage class | 208V, 240V, 480V, 600V |
| Breaker types | Drawout air, insulated case, molded case |
| Bus material | Copper and aluminum both purchased |
| Condition accepted | Working, untested, water damaged, stripped |
| Testing required | None. We evaluate it ourselves. |
