01You Are Paid Before It Moves

Funds change hands before a single section leaves your property. There is no consignment and no waiting on a downstream resale.

02No Testing Is Required

You are never asked to test, energize, clean or repair the gear. Our team evaluates it from the nameplate photos and our own inspection.

03We Cover Freight and Rigging

Lowboys, flatbeds, cribbing, section separation and permits are billed to us. That cost is already priced into the offer you receive.

04Our Crews Handle Teardown

Disconnection coordination, dismantling, rigging out of the electrical room and loading are performed by our crews at our expense.

G&W Electric gear by class

We pay upfront, require no testing, and cover the freight, rigging and teardown at our own cost — the same terms on every purchase regardless of who built the equipment.

We buy G&W Electric product across every equipment class we handle. Pick the class that matches your gear for amperages, voltages and condition detail.

Low Voltage Switchgear

600V class drawout and fixed-mounted lineups pulled from indoor electrical rooms.

Outdoor Switchgear

Walk-in and non-walk-in weatherproof enclosures, pad-mounted and skid-mounted lineups.

Switchboards

Front-accessible service entrance and distribution switchboards from commercial buildings.

Arc-Resistant Switchgear

Type 2B arc-resistant lineups with plenums and pressure relief, low and medium voltage.

Panelboards

Distribution and branch panelboards, loadcenters and column panels in bulk lots.

Bus Plugs and Busway

Plug-in and feeder busway runs, elbows, tees and bus plugs from industrial ceilings.

What moves the number on G&W Electric equipment

  • Bus amperage, and whether it is a standard rating.
  • Voltage class. 480V and 15kV resell fastest.
  • Copper versus aluminum bus, which is often a large difference.
  • Whether the breakers are still installed in their cubicles.
  • Breaker type: drawout air and vacuum outperform fixed molded case.
  • Indoor versus outdoor service history and weather exposure.

Selling G&W Electric switchgear

Straight answers

Do you only buy G&W Electric switchgear?

No. We buy gear from every manufacturer. Brand affects the resale pool and therefore the price, but it never determines whether we are interested.

My G&W Electric nameplate is unreadable. Is that a problem?

Not a serious one. Photograph the lineup anyway. Construction, cubicle layout, breaker frames and bus arrangement tell us a great deal, and we can often identify the rating from other markings inside the gear.

Is older G&W Electric gear worth anything?

Frequently yes. Age matters far less than amperage, voltage class and condition. Equipment from the 1960s and 1970s was built heavy, and much of it is still in service today, which keeps demand for spare sections and breakers alive.
